Lewisham Bereavement Counselling is a registered charity. We have been providing counselling and advice services for the bereaved people living in the Borough of Lewisham since 1985.
From 1st October, Lewisham Bereavement Counselling will become a service managed by St Christopher’s Hospice. Lewisham Bereavement Counselling, as an independent charity, will be closing.
This is a great opportunity for us to be part of an organisation working across South East London who provide a range of bereavement services.
If you have contacted us before, or are contacting us for the first time, we will let you know how this will impact the support you require.
Counselling sessions are now being provided online.
Our team have been working to make sure we can provide a counselling experience which is secure and private. We have also trained all of our volunteer counsellors to be able to provide counselling through video conferencing technology.
Before you start counselling with us, we will meet with you online, to make sure you feel happy and confident in using the technology.
We are still taking calls and emails, and sending out information and support resources for anyone who needs help with a bereavement.
Please do get in touch if you need help or support following a bereavement. If we can't help you, we will signpost you to someone who can.
If you have have been bereaved as a result of COVID- 19, as well as reading our support resources we recommend you take a look at Sudden, a charity who support those who have been suddenly bereaved.
