Join our Trustee Board

LBC has several vacancies for trustee members.

You may be someone who has an interest in bereavement and/or counselling, or want to get involve in helping to manage a local community organisation.


The Trustee Board currently comprises of a Chair, Treasurer, plus four other members, two of which are LBC volunteer bereavement counsellors. LBC has recently undergone a number of significant changes and is looking for trustees to help guide and lead the organisation's affairs. We are a small organisation, which requires trustees to take an active role. We are at an exciting time of development, looking for individuals to help us ensure LBC's future effectiveness, efficiency and stability.


If you would like to consider joining us, then our Chair would be very pleased to have a chat with you before inviting you to a meeting to give you an opportunity to meet us and see what our meetings are like. You could then be formally co-opted on to our committee should you so wish.

Current trustee vacancies


The Treasurer is responsible, on behalf of the Board of Trustees for maintaining an overview of the Lewisham Bereavement Counselling's (LBC) financial affairs, ensuring its long term financial viability. This involves ensuring proper financial records are kept, the Board is kept up to date with the organisation’s current financial status by being made aware of any risks or uncertainties, and that proper procedures are maintained in line with auditing requirements.

Charity Secretary

The charity secretary is primarily responsible for the smooth and efficient running of meetings of the trustee board and any sub-committees, providing assistance and support to the chair of the board of trustees. The charity secretary is also responsible for keeping the ‘conscience’ of the charity, by way of ensuring that the trustees continue to take decisions and act in line with the governing document, and comply with the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements the charity is subject to in order to fulfil its administrative responsibilities.
